The game’s interface has a plethora of information available for you at all times, the font is readable on larger screens and you can easily zoom in and out on your character. The game now scales smartly to whatever monitor resolution you throw at it and the cut scenes have ditched the embarrassing 1998-era CGI for a cool motion-comic inspired look. Through some amazing licence hoodoo, the company was able to get the rights to Baldur’s Gate (the code was property of BioWare’s parent company Electronic Arts Inc., the licence belongs to Wizards of the Coast and the game was originally published by Interplay) and package everything together with a newer refined interface as Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition. Overhaul Games is made up of old BioWare employees and its small team is located just a block away from the Whyte Avenue offices where BioWare got it’s start. However, unlike the Ultima games before it, Baldur’s Gate has been picked back up, polished off and given a new coat of paint to make it more palatable for modern audiences.
